Hamburg English can offer companies a system that can
show you a candidates English level, before that
candidate has had time to walk from the computer to a
room to meet you. In fact, they can even complete the
test before the interview at home or work.
About the test
The test has over 2000 variations and can be completed online at any computer
connected to the internet. The test takes from 30 to 45
minutes and involves reading and listening comprehension
covering; locating and receiving information,
description, grammar and vocabulary. When completed, the
system calculates the participants level based upon the Common European Framework and sends a
report direct to your email address.

The report details not just the participants overall
level, but also, their level for each skill tested. The
test results can be shown as an estimate by percentage,
an estimate based on the Common European Framework, the number of questions correctly answered or using standard cross reference charts, the score results can be compared to the TOEIC®
scoring method for class placement purposes.
Costs, reliability and fairness.
The costs of the test are very low as the whole system
is automatic and involves no personnel intervention.
This also means that the testing of participants is fair
and standard and not affected by the interviewers or
scorers mood or own knowledge of English. The algorithms
used have proven over 95% accurate. |
